Question High mileage and a big cam...please advise.

Well I'm finally ready to blow some cash on a new cam for my 98 Z28, but I'm concerned about the mileage being an issue. It's a florida car, I bought it with about 76k on it...it now has about 80k...so I can't comment on how hard the first 76k were. It doesn't seem to have any problems with piston slap/lifter noise/oil consumption. If a compression test checks out ok...is there any reson why I shouldn't go ahead and do a cam swap?

Heres the stuff I'm ordering...if anyone sees anything I forgot or should check along the way, please let me know.

TSP Torquer v2
PRC Dual Springs
TSP Push Rods
Ported LS6 Oil Pump
Rollmaster Double Roller Chain (can I get away with an LS2 and stock gears...or should I spend the extra money?)

Any comments appreciated.

My car has 71,000 with the mods listed in the sig and a 150 shot, and its doing fine. Also installed a t-rex in a 98 Trans Am with 103,000 miles on the stock bottom end it it runs great too. With hand ported heads and the cam it made 441 rwhp and 406 rwtq

I'm installing a large cam in my car...it has 120,000 miles on it. I'm not the least bit worried, but I will be taking a few precautions...mew oil pump, timing chain, etc.

3 different cams. 1 (a 218 something another) before previous owner bought it. Owner bought car and installed 231/237 ran it for about 10k miles. Now I have a 224/224 in and it's got about 2000 miles on it. Total ~108k miles. Made 38X with the 224/224.
