Default comp R (875-16) lifters

It seems that the comp R lifters aren't favored by the majority of the guys on this forum. I'm still searching for some results of these lifters ending up in a negative way but haven't found any yet. What's the big issue w/ them, Why aren't they a good replacement?

I've talked to LG motorsports, and from what they say, they don't seem to have ever had a problem w/ the comp R lifters (875-16) I've even expressed how there is some concern about them on the different forums, and they still don't seem to have a concern about them. They still reccommend them to me. I've told them the new setup and asked about needing adjustable rockers. They said they work work just fine and I wouldn't need to change out the stock rockers.

Not calling anyone out, but why would a company like LG motorsports reccomend them if they didn't work. I'm just asking because I will soon be changing out my heads, and I wanted to find a good lifter to go w/. the new heads and beefy cam

I've been out of the ls1 performance for about 2 years now, but from what I can see now, the market changes so fast that companies out now are just improving upon the comp 875-16 lifters. I too use the comp "R" lifters in my camaro using a 228/236 .610/ .635 cam, SII heads, nitrous, 4200 stall etc.... and EVERYTHING IS GREAT. Thunder racing told me to use them, as well did ls1speed........ I hope I was some help to ya, have fun.......

I have had 2 sets die, and 1 set took out my shortblock. Personally, I'd steer far far away from them. Get the Morels.

They are finicky about preload. If you keep stock rockers, make sure you get custom p-rods that give you proper preload.
