Mine sounds exactly like that. I always assumed it was piston slap. I routinely drive it like I stole it but it's not gotten any worse. Maybe I should change the cam and all of the other stuff while I'm at it.

Was your noise coming from the back cylinders on the drivers side?

Because I heard all the stories about how it could be a bent PR, a bad plug wire, rocker, lifter, spark plug...about everything. I just went through and checked everything, starting with plug wires, and that just happened to be what was wrong. Took all 8 off and used a ohmmeter to measure resistance, the closer to 0 the better, and I had one old wire that was around 320 ohms. The rest were better with about 15 ohms. Dont know how just one went bad, but oh well. 8 new OEM plug wires all checked in at 5 ohms, and the car runs much better now.

My sound came from the rear of the driver's side too. You could hear it the best if you put your head down near the driver side front tire, in between the tire and the side mirror really.

I have the same noise coming from the same exact location. Hopefully some new wires take care of it.
