From my research its in the ball park of $500 (for the install). Im in the process of doing i myself, just following the directions on ls1howto.com. Its pretty easy so far just taking a little bit of time... you should consider doing it yourself.
In parts I think I ran another 350-400 or so...

This fackin shop I went to here in Fort Worth quoted me $1800. WHAT THE....
I got that weird "uhhh wtf" eye twitch at the shop owner.
For $500.... I'd pay someone else. For $1800 I'll do it my DAMN SELF.

Xtreme Horsepower in North Richland Hills.
They guys there were great, they took me on a tour of the whole shop and I watched one of the builders porting some heads and running em on the flowbench. They showed me some builds they had going on and also let me poke around their project SS (bitch is gonna be fasttt).
Really nice guys... I just don't know anyone who has experience with them.
Their prices on other things seemed alright, like clutch swap, etc.
It may have been 1300, it's kind of hard to read the card I wrote it on since I was writing at a funny angle, but yeah it was over $1k for just a cam swap.

Now that I think about it, he must have been including parts and dyno tune with that.... I think his wording threw me off. It seems maybe he was saying that included springs, custom ground cam, gaskets, fluids, dyno tune, and labor.

But if they included a dyno and a cam into that price then that is pretty good.
What did they used to tune with? EFILive or LS1edit? HP Tuners?

I would do it myself because it is fun, it is an excuse to drink beer, not pay someone else (ie it saves beer money), it is not hard, knowing it is done right (unless you have too much beer), and you can celebrate with beer afterwords.

I'll probably end up doing it myself. The only thing I'd be real wary or doing myself would be gears or tranny stuff, just because the tolerances and such are so tight.
Does anyone know if TSP does installs, tuning, etc... or are they sales only?

There seems to be a misunderstanding of what our price includes and what you were looking for.
$1800 would be for the installation of:
the camshaft itself
springs
pushrods
and a tune
if you supplied all the parts the installation would be $550
i apologize for any confusion,
