Default Solid Roller Guys Please Come Inside

Ok.. I decided to go with a Solid Roller setup for my 408.. Its not gonna be a huge cam, but I don't want to be plagued by valve adjustments all the time so I want a good set of rocker arms that I can depend on.

Is it necessary to spend $900-$1100 for the Comps, T&Ds, Jesel Mohawks, etc? Or can you get by using the less expensive Jesel SS, Cranes, etc? What are you guys running?

I'm also curious as to what lifters would work well.. I know there were a few problems with the Comps a while back, but I was told that they are fine now. What are you guys running and what would you recommend??

Thanks in advance.. (btw, the rockers will be used with AFR heads)

I'm using the Lunati solid lifters and Jesel Mohawks with great results. The rockers need to be adjustable so the Jesel SS are out. Comp supposedly has a new set that I have heard good things about. Jason @ TSP has a set he used for some dyno time if your interested.... If you need a set of valve cover spacers send me a PM, I've got a couple used sets cheap.

Thanks Phil.. I was looking at a set of Jesel SS rockers and I followed a link to this page on Jesel's web site. It shows the SS rockers being adjustable. Maybe I'm seeing something wrong.. http://www.jeselonline.com/index.php?categoryid=62

How much are the Lunati solid lifters? Any modifications have to be made?

Thanks!

I got mine from Jason @ TSP so you'd have to call him about the lifters. Jesel does not make a SS adjustable rocker for the LS1.

You should check out Crane's new Shaft Mount Rocker Arms. Tony Mamo got excellent results with his mild solid roller 383 running Crane Shaft Mount Rocker Arms. I am in the process of going solid roller in my 402 and I am planning on running Crane's shaft mounts.
