Default Best way to clean a rusty cam ?

I have a stock cam that has been sitting around a few months. It has some rust on it but no so much as the type of rust you can feel just mainly the kind of rust you can see. I was wondering what is the best way to go about cleaning it up before I put it back in the ta? Any help would be appreciated.

I would try a plastic type of scotchbrite pad with some oil or maybe WD-40.

not a wise idea. if you think it's clean enough, over time, your lifters will have a differnet thought.

I would think that it could be micropolished like a crank, but I wouldn't try it myself.
