Default Which Way To Install This Lifter?

When I pulled them there didn't seem to be any particular way the oil hole (?) on the side of the lifter went. Should I install them facing a certain way? Sorry about the quality of the pic. Got a little to close. Thanks

Actually yes it does matter. If you flip the oil hole to the outside it can't get any pressure from the oil gallery. These perticular lifters have to have the hole in the oil gallery. The other lifters you are talking about have the hole on the side.

When I pulled the heads off of my 03 Z06 I looked at how the lifters were and some had the hole one way and others had the hole the other way. The engine had never been apart so I just put them in the way I took them out.

I think your wrong.

The lifter rides in a well, surrounded by oil under pressure forced into the hole.

Doesn't matter where the hole faces.

If it did matter they would be marked or keyed.

IT DOESNT MATTER..... even though I say that I installed mine facing the galley. They were NOT all one way from the General himself.

I have pulled lifters on 5 cam changes, different car each time. Each time individual lifters were installed facing up and down.... It does not matter...

This is a bit old, but I pulled mine, and there was no direction similar in any of them.
