I've been told that you can run the hot cam with the stock stall but it really needs one with the cam.

Yeah, I've been doing this for a few months now. Untuned I would stall. Once tuned, no stalling issues. I don't have any problems with the car surging except the slight amount when coming to a complete stop. It feels like it wants to take off, in other words.

Whats your idle set at?? I plan on using a non stall converter and 800 rpms..

Idle is around 750.

BTW, when I said "untuned I would stall", I was referring to the car dying when I came to a stop.

mines on the stock stall and a mail order tune. runs like *** sometimes and dies all the time, but other times it will run perfect. why? dont know...

My idle is set at about 700 right now.
