Default What is YOUR A/F at?

I am interested in what A/F everyone runs with their bolt on, cam only, or heads/cam car. I was always under the impression that you wanted to stay right around the 13.0 range. What is the highest that you can SAFELY run before you start to shorten the life of your car?

What A/F does it need to be to be safe with a dry shot? In the mid 12's? High 11's? Just looking to see what everyone else is at compared to me. Post up!

I think 13:0 is still pretty safe, but watch it when it starts spiking to 13.3 in places. Some N/A races lean out as far as 13.5 but thats way lean for my taste. I shoot for 13:0 but try and err on the side of extra fuel.

Great responses guys! Here's a pic of my graph, you can see the A/F is a bit lean.....I am going back soon to try and get the MAF to compensate for the dry hit, gonna add some fuel back in there to make it safer.

I am running at 13.0 across the board. yours does seem to be a bit on the high side, especially for a dry shot. I would probably run it at around 12.8 or so for safety.

My AFR at 6,000 RPM is around 12.2:1. Tuner keeps a safe street tune despite what seems to be the internet logic.

On the street - 12.9-13.0

N20 - 11.5-11.8

You guys will likely see some KR before you have to worry about melting ****. I dont see the slightest bit of KR at WOT with 10.85:1 compression and 13.0 Air/Fuel.

Where are you guys measuring it at, the tail pipe? or do you have a wide band O2 pluged in after the headers?

I measure with a wideband in my X pipe, and had my readings backed up on the dyno with a dynojet wideband at the tailpipe. The two numbers matched perfectly.

Thanks for the response and would it matter if I just pluged it into one bank?

No, thats perfectly acceptable to do. Just be aware you may overheat the sensor. Its not likely but it does happen.

12.8-1 LM WB Dyno Tailpipe

Street is stays 13.0-1

I've ran 3 different Cam and H/C setups with this above and have not had a single problem in 3+ years.

As BilliumSS said above 11.5-11.8 for the N20.

My tuning was done with the sensor pluged into the first O2 bung and completed with LS1 edit on a dyno.
