Default Which Lifter.....Any Recommendations? Comp 850, Crane 10530?

SETUP:
6.0 Shortblock
TR224 cam
Stock LENGTH Pushrods
Stock Rockers
853 heads milled .030
***Need any other info? lemme know

I have Comp "R" Lifters right now, but want to get rid of them since they are so noisy and the heads are coming off. Morels are kind of out the picture since they take so long to get and are muy expensivo.

I have called some local performance shops in Houston and was recommended Comp 850-16 many times, but heard the Crane 10530s in many cars, and are very quiet and the owners love them.

So which is better, Comp 850, or Crane 10530? should i look into something else? thank you very much

Morels are in stock at a few of shops, I can think of Thunder Racing and Futral for 2 sponsors that have them in stock. Yes they are more money but with their rebuild program you only buy 1 set of lifters and when you go to build or refreshen the engine they will replace all worn parts, bodies and such for minimal charge and you have a new set of lifters. Can't beat that.

If you saw the Morel's in person, you might change your opinion. On a dollar/lifter basis, $160 lifters are $10 each. Have to question how much quality can go in, and still have profit at that price. Just my opinion, but I went with the Morel's.

I was told the lifter body is longer, but the roller tip to pushrod cup is the same. So you should be OK. The roller is also slightly larger, so the roller RPM will be lower for any given cam speed.

I just looked it up.That is the part number. I dont think the lifters have alot to do with noise though. It mostly has to do with how your valvetrain is set up. I'm running those crane lifters with the Crane 1.8 accelerated lift adj rockers and Patriot gold springs and I think my valvetrain is quieter than stock.

lunati lifters are made by morel, same lifter. may help you out tracking one down. also not only is the roller and body stronger, but plunger is held with a snap ring, instead of clip, something to also look into.

Man, all this is relative to the size of cam you plan on having. For lifts at or below .600, the 850-16 will be fine.
Mine have 47K miles on and 3 different XE-R cams. No issues. I'm only repacing them with a new set because i'm doing a total rebuilt 383.
