5.3L Head gaskets?????? 5.7 block
TEA 5.3 litre 2.02/1.57 Heads,TSP 233/239 .603/.600 112 Lsa Cam With PRC Dual Springs good to .650 lift. Upgradded the PRC retainers to Patriot retainers and Super 7 Locks, TSP hardend Chromoly 7.40" push rods and Comp 850 lifters. I am about to install all of this plus a 90/90 setup and need to order head gaskets. Which are the best one's for my set up? the heads have also been milled very slightly for clean up, and i was thinking a thicker gasket to keep the compression from going through the roof. i plan on running 100 shot also. part #'s and all suggestions are helpful. thanks

Some 5.3 heads have a notch and require the older gasket, some don't and you can use either gaskets tyle. You need to call a sponser and work it out. With a big cam I'd worry more about getting good quench and a good tune...keep the CR up as high as you can. I would guess (read my sig) you're probably around 62cc chambers which is around 10.9:1 making a few assumptions.

I had 6.0l head gaskets with my 243's to go on my 5.7l. I was told by LPE and my mechanic that under NO circumstances would they put that head gasket on my car. They insisted on the 5.7 gaskets for the 5.7 block.

I had a faxed picture of the notch in the early 5.3 heads that was sent to me from Futral. It was hard to see on the faxed image though.
You really need to talk with one of the sponsers and get the right answer for your combo. As I recall it was only the early 5.3 heads that had the notch, but I can't remember which one needed which gasket.
Sorry I can't help you more.

I have basically the same setup going on, 2.5 5.3 heads on my stock block, the vendor shipped me the GM replacement head gaskets for my 5.7 block. (get the gaskets that are specific to the block, not the heads)
