Default Max Nitrous?

Hi all,

I will be doin a new setup very soon and I would like to have some comments and answers for my thoughts before I start all this.

I will be runnin a head cam combo with 11.5 compression and nitrous , the question is what is the max of a shot I can go with?

and if I go forged pistons how can I go more?

Thanks.

If you get a custom piston with lowered ringlands and maybe some nice billet rods with ARP 2000 bolts then you could spray a **** ton ( maybe a 200/200 dual stage) on it if the rings were gapped right and in a direct port setup. If you had a secondary fuel system you really wouldn't have to worry about pulling too much timing.

But I guess the question is how much do you want to spray? Call up a builder and talk it over with them. They can build a motor to fit your budget and spray needs.

150 shot is max(wet) with no forgeing, you definately need a custom build if you want more than that, your stock bottom end should hold ups, rods and pistons are a must ARP bolts are also on the must have list.

TRMIN8R sprays a 200 shot with a Magic Stick cam and puts down 640RWHP, but he has stock compression and very low timing.. If I sprayed on an LS1, I'd probably try what TRMIN8R is trying.

The onbly problem with spraying alot on an LS1 is lifting the heads and pushing water.

With exxcesive cylinder pressures the heads actually "lift" off the block enuff for the compression to escape into the coolant pasages. there fore "pushing water" out of the overflow.
