Default Cam with stock manifolds?

I might not be able to afford both this summer. Headers vs cam/springs will cost about the same. Just want to get the one that will pick up more hp. Will probably look at something around 228/228. I don't want a crazy lope. Will a cam be too choked up with stock manifolds? So in the case I can't afford both, which should I do? I'll have a converter first for sure. Right now I have a lid and a catback.

go with the LT's first. You will see more gains that way than running that size cam with the stock manifolds.

It's always recommended to do LT's first, but a small cam like that will be fine w/o LT's. You should probably finish your exhaust and then get into the engine.

Converter first, then headers, then cam with tuning!

That's what I'll end up doing. Thanks for the advice everyone.
