It's when the piston is approaching or departing top dead center that you get P to V clearance issues. The longer you hang a valve open (duration), the more chance you have of getting into P to V issues. Repeat after me, duration is what gives piston to valve clearance issues, not lift.
As an example: a 248/258 .500/.500" lift cam would have piston to valve contact.
A 224/228 .750/.750" cam would not.

I paid $400.11 for the exact same grind as Patrick. When I had called (this was early last week), he said there were 3 people already asking about Patrick's cam, lol
My swap was set back a bit by my motor developing a main bearing knock. I guess I deserve that for driving my car for over a month and a half on 7 cylinders :sigh: Oh well, picking up a 30k mile shortblock next weekend and gathering other "fun" parts up.

I ordered my cam as a slight variation of Patricks, more tuned for my personal goals. Cost was 414 and change, shipped. Same as an off the shelf cam would have cost me.

I think Thunder Racing should give Patrick some kick back on all the business this thread is bringing them, I just put an order in yesterday! Geoff is working on something like this for me; 227/236 .637/.600 110 (+0) intake is an LSK, the exhasut is an XE-R lobe. $415.00 including cam doctor.

I'm so excited to get it in my hands.
