Best Cam to fit my needs POWER!
I own a 2000 SS camaro with SLP LongTube's, SLP High Flow Cats, 3" piping, SLP Loudmouth exhaust. SLP Lid, LS6 Intake, High Flow sensors, At this point Im in need of a T/B. The last mod before I want to get the cam in. The kind of cam I wanted was maybe something that will have its nice idle sound to it, make you get chills when you hear it coming down the street. I dont want something to heavy for the motor. I DONT have the money to rebuild. And I use the car allot so maybe a cam that wont get me 5mpg, what are my options? Any recommendations with my current setup? Soundclips? Your help is very appreciated

I like the TR224 from thunder racing with a 112 LSA for your lopey sound needs. Just dont get something with such a high lift on it. GM makes a ASA Hot cam, expensive but I really like it. Its got a more radical duration than the TR224, and only a .525 lift instead of a .581 lift like the TR224 which is great!, and best of yet it has a 110 LSA its gonna lope like a ****. Tell me what ya end up getting

bigger cams tend to make more power. the g5x2 112 from LG-motorsports has the cam sound you're looking for and the power to back it up. i've had it(i have x4 now) and with a good tuner it drives verry, verry nice on the streets. LG-motorsports had a g5x1-g5x2-g5x3 and g5x4 cams, thet have something for your needs. take a look at their site. goodluck to ya.

I have a 220/224 .581 114lsa and love it for an M6.
If I had an auto, I'd go with a bigger cam.

Actually it is not lsa that gives the lopey shakey idle..... Example... My new 226/230 112lsa cam has less lope then my old 232/236 114lsa cam. Is has to do with the overlap. My old cam had 55/6 degrees overlap and my new cam has 53/4, @ .006/.050 lift...
As far as power goes.... Street driven 346 LS1s "like" an intake valve closing between 43-46 degrees @ .050 and an IVO and EVC at equal distances from TDC...

Asuming your car is stock with headers, You need a custom grind cam. The one I listed below will develop lots of good street torque with a cool sounding idle (but no chills).
224/228 @.050, 108 lsa, 108 lc, .581 lift XE-R lobes
Much like Patrick's but with less lift.
