Default Cam - TB drill mod???

ok i have recently installed a fast 90-90 on my car along with all other boltons and a pretty decent cam. but when i got it back from TSP it still didnt want to catch idle at 650 so i turned it up to about 950 with the screw on the side of the TB. i was wondering if doing the drill mod on the TB would help with the idleing problem. thanks for the help in advance. also i am trying to get off work early enough to contact TSP but i am unable to so feel free to chime in.

I just about had the hole double in size of what it was. You might have to get a drill and just try until you get as big as will suffice.

I'm in the same boat. I drilled my stocker and the car idled fine. Now this new NW90 has a little bitty hole in it. And with a 234/242 cam, I'm thinking I may have to drill it a bit bigger!

Have you gotten a full tune? I look at drilling as a last resort since its a pricey mod to reverse.

I have a similar post going in the "A/T" forum ...

Anyway, ..

I have an '02 T/A with a 216/224/LSA 115 cam (Crane) and a 3200 Yank converter. My car stumbles (cycles) A LOT coming off sudden throttle movements (traffic scenarios) near idle and stalls. I can correct the cycling with the throttle and eventually the computer will catch it and be able to idle. Slow (easy) throttle / pedal in traffic usually isn't a problem .. the car will idle fine.

I've talked with someone at Vinci Perf. and they recommeded drilling the TB butterfly. Also mentioned adjusting idle manually as an option. However, they did not recommend messing with the tables in the computer. I have their hand held programmer .. so that advice may be meant for rookies only.

I'm not sure which is best ... get a professional tune or do the drill!?!?

Since I'm pretty certain I'll never go back to a stock cam ... what other "down sides" are there to drilling?
