Thats cool.. What size gasket are you planning to run?

Im going to do a pre-dyno run and see what she is stock wise. Then add the G5X3 cam, Stage II darts, 90/90 set up with all the little goodies just to see what I gained. Hopefully, i will have it all done come mid May.

Well as much as I want this cam, and as much as I would even love to keep my car, some unfortunate events happened last night and Im probaly going to have to put the car up for sale soon. I was really looking forward to this cam! It was like my dream cam.

Hopefully in the future when I get the vette I want Ill get to pu this cam in it. Thanks for all the input though. Hope the people putting it in have a good experience with it.

I'm going to check valve clearance with stock gaskets and if I have room was thinking about .40 cometics. Instead of milling, as I don't think there will be much room for more than this. just ordered a new mandrel and cartridge rolls to do a real light clean up in exhaust ports.(casting flash) and a little spit shine using 120 grit and then 240 tapered rolls.

Thanks.. When you are able to get the clearance checked, let us/me know. Your 225's are the ~62cc? The exhaust ports on the darts I have, are nice and smooth all ready. But, I think you got the ones out of the box right?

Im "hoping" that with the .040"gasket and the ~62cc dart head, and the X3 cam will not have any PTV issues. That would make the install soo much more easier.

Keep us updated as I will do the same.

Yea these are box stock heads so i'm just gunna clean them up, I must say though that for a as cast head they are pretty clean. I'll keep you updated. Just broke out my light springs and Dial Indicator ,so I'll let you know. I'm hoping that I can use the Cometics, I think it will help on the low end by being able to up the compression a little. Also better quench.

dont be a ****!

youve got SIX GEARS, buddy..
i only have four and im thinking about 4.10s

you can do 78MPH @ 2100RPM with 4.10s!
how great is that?

im willing to bet going 4.10 would even make sixth gear more useful..

Well I dont have a track car nor do I have endless amount of money to pay for the gas that goes in that thing lol. Oh and a wife that limits my spending doesnt help either. So ya see 373's will be fine for me as long as the cam does well with them

Well really was 395rwhp with mine (still was pissed) plus I had very good tuners mess with my car, 3 of them in fact, all they could muster was that. My friend with the 01 Z06 could only get 412rwhp with bolt ons. Wish I would have gone with the TRex, next cam is the RPM-5. Works good on spray tho

Who cares if he has to sell the car-lots of good info coming out here.

Mr. Deex99 flycutting is notching the pistons to make more clearance between them and the valves so they don't hit each other.

Another question for this thread,
Will the G5X4 work with the PRC CNC LS6 heads from TSP? The heads have stock valves so I imagine it would-I've heard they work with the TRex.
Also, did anyone figure out if the G5X3 and G5X4 will work with the out of box Dart 205s and 225s?

From what I know/heard is that the X4 will NOT fit on a set of untouched heads.. So, I would assume the LS6's you are referring to, will have PTV issues.

I have heard that on the X3 cam WILL fit (with a stock gasket) down to a 59CC head or an untouched head for that matter. But, I dont know up to what valve size with an aftermarket head. So, I think the 205's are ~62cc so it ought to work and give you some room with a stock gasket. I went with a .040" gasket, so I hope it works.

So running the G5X4 is not an option for a cam only setup on stock heads then, right?
