Just bought this cam, waiting for lifter tool to come in so I can begin install. there was a dyno posted that made 410rwhp/380rwtq or so off of this cam, with just ls6 intake true duals ported tb etc, all the little bolt ons. when I install it anywhere from 385-400 I'll be happy.

Now that I think about it I could lose power and not give a **** as long as I have that lopey sound.

00SLPSS-lifter tool?? i've done 5-cam swaps in my own car(one two weeks ago) and one in my buds car and never used a cam tool. use 5/16 dowel rod from home depot, roll the car over by hand a few times, then pull her out. i have never had any problems this way in 6-cam swaps.

My car was a 99 z28 with full bolt on 3500 stall and tr230 cam. I got about 16mpg mixed driving but i never could keep my foot out of it. As far as cam tool i use 5/16 brake line about 21 inches long and it worked perfectly.

How are you guys getting those dowels in? I could never get mine to slide in. So i just roled the cam a bunch of times and swapped cams real quick. Never had a problem. Did that with my car and a buddys. Now im about to do it again on my car as soon as my damn cam gets here.

You have to roll the cam to lock the lifters up before sliding in the dowels.

I went 11.62 at 116 as well with a PT4400, 3.23's, full weight....1.57 short time. 23-25 MPG on the highway, don't know about city but it's pretty low. Idle sounds really good and the cam pulls very hard. I've never dynoed so no info there.

There have been several people go low 11's high 10's with that cam. Do a search for JaSSon. He went high 10's.

Yep, JaSSon car is sweet... not sure but there is like 1 vid of his car racing an EVO i believe it was on the street..

also look up VIPER EATR, or Slacker.. not sure which one it was, they have the TR 230, unported LS6 heads and running 10's..
