Default LS6/LS2/BBK/Weiand/FAST

Hi,
Im wondering on intakes, im getting ready to build a 383, and was interested in what intake to use. I have a LS6 already, but was wondering if the LS2, BBK, Weiand, would be a good alternative. I know the FAST is a great intake, but I dont think the 10hp is worth the cost. And was thinking possibly the BBK/Weiand could be ported to work almost as well as the FAST or at least bridge the gap some.

So I suppose my question is, is the LS2 worth anything in comparrison to the LS6.

Also what does anyone think of the BBK/Weiand??

Thanks
ed

If your going to spend the money on a 383 do it right and get the FAST 90/90 setup. It may be more than 10hp, it builds on other mods.

LS6 or fast 90mm. I have the ls2 on my car and it is garbage. Car felt more responsive with the ls6. All those other intake are is ls6 wannabes. I would rather have an unported fast 90mm than a ported weiand or bbk.

You mean 382 right? Not that it matters

Anyway, I would say that a FAST intake is really the way to go if you are looking for some good power and not really a loss of lowend either. I run an LS6 and a FAST and love both of them. Depends on what your displacement is and what not though. The 90/90 would be a great addition to the stroker! The Weiand seems to me that it would heatsoak.

If you are going to pay that much I would just go with the FAST anyway.
Try in the External Engine section with this one for a better answered question. You might have meant to put it there in the first place though.

yeah 382, thought that might have been a better section.

I guess Ill pony up and get the fast, I already have a BBK TB, so I figured itd be easy to get the BBK intake nad everything would just bolt up, but oh well cant win em all

I'm sure with a 382 your gonna see more than 10rwhp by adding the FAST 90mm, good luck with it.

alright alright.

It looks as though i am going with a fast, for those of you that have one, will it accept a stock bolt pattern TB, or just the 90 that fast sells. I may use the BBK for a while, before I buy a 90mm TB
thanks

If you allready have the BBK TB, you might still want to consider the BBK intake.
You can port the BBK and get more flow out of it (I did ~20%).
As for heat soak, it is well BOLONI.
Our motors are not FI but NA and if you think that the air comming in has the time to actualy raise in temperature so that it makes a drastic effect on performance, well think again.
BBK intake can be portmatched easily, it is also O-ringed to accept OEM gaskets.
You can also polish it for "BLING,BLING".
Also if you use nitrous, it wont split in half under a backfire, (Your MAF will still need to be changed though)

So if you are only discarding BBK intake because of false "Heat Soak" phobia, don't.
