Default wat u think??

looking for a good combo for my ls1. this is what i got so far.

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=175&catid=49

im also thinking its a good idea to get an ls2 timing chain, ls6 oil pump and maybe some sort of an intake manifold, would porting the stock ls1 manifold help? the lsx seems over priced to me. i also gotta get some custom made LTs to fit around the steering shaft on my s10. anything else i should look into?

get an ls6 manifold, you can get one for around 300 and its very comparable to a FAST intake.

Your starting to piece this thing together now I see!
BTW: Those LS6 springs need to be upgraded to the PRC Dual Springs for that monster stick!

i havent decided yet. my plan so far is to drop a stock ls1 in it this winter then next winter to do the cam/head package. if i can find a cheap long block i might go ahead and do the build up. i thought abotu getting a forged short block from speed inc, but its 3k which isnt bad in all actuality but i dont think i need forged, im only shooting for 450-500 at the wheels

On a forged bottom end with rings way down on the pistons and the ***** to try it! Otherwise you are gonna have some forged slugs.

If you go with some nice heads and the MS3....this is all depending on your drivetrain...you will probably be deep into the 400rwhp mark. And yes, there is always nitrous.

thats a negative on the nitrous lol. wat do u think the cost would be for a shortblock then doing the head/cam swap vs long block and finishing it up.

Forged shortblock = around $4k (with the good stuff)
Heads and cam = $2,500 (and of course....the good stuff)
So $6,500 for a complete built longblock vs. stock longblock for around $4k or less.
