what should i do i just purchased a 2001 camaro ss a4 with 52k miles it is compleatly stock and i want to be able to compeate w/ my bro who has a 87 buick grand national it has the run the 1/8 mile in 7.8 94mph on street tires what can i do to my car to be able to compete.

lid, full exhaust, a stall 3200, and a nitrous kit if you dont want a nitrous kit put a cam in it or do both and be faster then him
i had a 00 z28 A4 with full exhuast and a lid and it went 8.1 @ 85 mph in the 1/8. with a stall i know it would have went 7.70' or better

With 5 grand, you can proably so fullbolt ons AND a cam, maybe even nitrous too. Thats a lot of money to spend for an LS1 and with that, you could get that car into the 10's 1/4 mi.
Fuddle 4000/2.4 converter $605
G5X3 and sup. stuff $700
Ported LS6 heads w/springs $1200
ASP pulley & belts $250
LT headers & cutout $750
Tuning & dyno time $350
ET Streets $350
Total $4205
That's basically my combo, except my headers were more than that. Consistent 7.4's in the 1/8 will be very easy with that.
Plus that leaves room for nitrous in the future when he turns up the boost on you.

the problem is i drive this car everyday and i want to keep it street legal so i dont have the cops up my a$$ everyday.

what about a sts turbo kit im not a motor expert but wanted to know how much it would be the get the whole motor rebuilt to handle like 10 pound of boost.
i also want to get the trans rebuilt so it will handle all the new power the motor will make and a stall converter
i know all this stuff goes over the 5k i said but want a reliable car that i can drive every day getting 25 mpg on the highway and atleast 15 in the city and that i can take to the track and run consisten high 11 low 12sec runs all day without breaking and to be able to whip on my brothers gn i sick of him always beating thanks again for all the help
