Actually, right now I am running the springs that came with the Dart heads which are a beehive design. I do have a set of 833's ready to go though

Are those the same ones you had down at DEZ Racing that day? They seemed to work pretty darn good.

Yes, they are actually PSI springs. Here is what they look like during head re-assembly.

Well I went to Crane's site and they are listing the 833 as a single spring, like the other two you recommended. So if the 921 floats, despite it's substantially higher spring pressure, then spring weight must be the more significant factor for this application. Or do you think there is another issue at work here?

833's are doubles, their web site must be wrong. I have a set right here. Just snapped a photo. If you are going with the Cranes, the 833's are the way to go if you have a cam and upgraded timing chain, etc. According to Mark Campbell, they have better harmonic characteristics.

I would say a double spring provides insurance against dropping a valve, but with the lift being under .600" the singles will work without problems on jmproduction's application just to note.

For some reason the harmonics produced above 6000rpm by the 921's with the Gold Race rockers is still being looked at. I would think that it is the inner springs effect on the outer due to the rocker's physical characteristics in terms of motion, like a figure eight may cause oscillations.

Ok the ones I saw on their site are 99833's, your's say 144833's on the box. The springs you have aren't on the site. How much were they and where did you get them?

I second that! Cool that the harmonics don't effect it till 7200rpm. Good R&D by Mark.

I spoke to Mark about these springs early last fall when they had gotten in their first pre-production run for evaluation. There were several "nit picking" things they didn't like and subsequently refined them a bit so I would say they went the extra distance to get out a good spring setup.

Default Thanks!

I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who posted up on this thread. I appreciate it and I feel I've got a much better idea of what will work for my set-up.

Good luck with your install. BTW Don't follow Cranes directions on adjusting the rockers. Use VHP's from their website. This is the correct valve lash adjustment you should be following. It should say for Gen III's.

Thanks, yes I've read through half a dozen or so articles and posts about this subject and I feel 100% sure that I understand the procedure now. I will bookmark your link for future reference in case I need a refresher later.
