cam advance question
ok i did my search and now my eyes hurt and i didn't find the answer i needed. if i have my cam and crak dot to dot as they are now and i take the chain and jump one tooth in advance on the crank will this give me 4 degrees of advancement? we did this on my friend truck with this same cam and it screamed way better results than just dot to dot. when i installed this cam in my truck i went striaght up but now wish i would have done the same. i just want to make sure i'm doing this right.

this thing peeks at like 6800 rpm and i don't want to turn it that fast and its in a truck so to lower the power band would be good for me. and this smae cam in my friend 5.3 ran twice as good when advanced then when it was striaght up.

You need the multi indexed crank sprocket. A cam degree wheel is ALWAYS a good idea when moving cams from straight up. I tried to run my cam 4* advanced hoping to bring the power band down and the car wouldn't even run
Also turned out that my double roller was off by 1* advanced already... must have been slack in the chain.
