Default Any A4 guys running the T-Rex cam or similar?

1. How do you like it?

2. What stall/tranny are you running?

3. Supporting mods?

4. Would you swap it for a different cam?

MS3 here, and I have a 4400 converter. I have all the bolt ons and stock heads and I love the cam....

do a search for username "Bain". He runs the Trex on a 4l60E setup. It's a legitamate 10sec car cam only if he ever gets it dialed in. I think he's making somewhere around 430 to the wheels unlocked, and through a 8.8 rear end. He also has a 4400 stall i believe. His car is FAST

T-Rex is a drag cam, not what you want.
You're just jumping from one big cam to another. As I said, you need a cam with the RIGHT VALVE EVENTS for the power range you desire.
So first set your power range and stick to it, then have a cam designed to fit that range with the most beneficial VALVE EVENTS.

I'm not interested in the T-Rex it's just a cam that makes big power and likes rpms. So along with just being curious who's running one, I was after info on how the tranny's where holding up using such a cam or what route they'd taken to improve the tranny.

There is only one route, to get a rebuilt tranny with parts to hold this power.:
Best on the market today are:
Finish Line Transmissions>sponsor
Rock On>sponsor
and a non sponsor> Rossler

I ran a 244/248-598/598 on a 114lsa
ported stock heads
3400 stall
373 gears

And i hated it. Had to spin it to the moon to make any power, and i didnt wanna spin it as high as it needed to be spun on a stock bottom end.
Went with a 222/226 570ish 114 lsa cam and couldnt be happier.

the guy i know has been through i think 3 built 4l60E's now. Maybe just 2, but i know of at least A4's he's toasted trying to get everything out of his Trex....hate to say it man, but Predator-Z is right. Unless you're interested in a SERIOUS tranny setup, as well as a high high high revving Trex setup, i'd go smaller.

TRex, 4400 stall, transgo shift kit and B&M tranny cooler will all be going in at the same time. I'll also be installing just about all the bolt ons (minus 90/90 and UD pulley for now). The valvetrain upgrades will include dual springs, ls6 pump, ls2 chain and hardened pushrods. I will keep the stock lifters until the heads come off this winter.
I imagine if you don't just straight abuse the hell out of your car you should be alright.

Mine will NOT be a track only car. Its my DD and I'm fine seeing power up high. When you floor it, you are going to see the higher RPMS anyways. With a good tune you should see fine drivability. But, like everyone said, weigh your goals with what you are willing to sacrifice. IIRC didn't you say you are going to have to pass emissions in another thread? I don't think this cam will be emissions friendly.
