Oh god not another cam question
yes yes I know I know, but I'm going to bring it up anyway. This summer I'm going to be installing the true duals and headers I have sitting on the floor of my shop (bmr sfc's too ) and I want to do a cam as well. Well the only thing I'm hesitant about is puttin too much cam for the stock torque converter and stock 3.23's. I don't mind big choppy idle and I dont mind revving the engine, but I dont want to have the car idling at 1500 rpm as it tries to fight against the torque converter either! My pick is the TR 224 -114 cam, but I would like to put more cam in it if I can with the stock drive train, what do you guys think?

I think you will see a much bigger gain from a stall or gears instead of a little cam.
EDIT- the tr224 isnt that small, but I bet its to big for stock stall and gears, but IM only guessing.

After reading a billion posts about changing the TC, I finally did it. What a difference. It's almost pointless to cam an auto without a stall. Although you will see higher dyno numbers. Without the proper setup it will fall on its face. 3.23 gears should be OK for a 224, but a TC is a must.
