Default help choosing a CAM

looking for a fully streetable cam with good manners (mild-moderate) since i drive 15k-ish a year and this is my only car for now

looking for something stock-ish, nice idle but nothing too choppy, doesnt have to be too emission friendly... gotta love OBDII
also dont wanna kill my gas toooo much LOL...

i have an A4 so i believe that changes my options

(ive been contemplating a yank 3400 to compliment the cam)
+ LT's ORY LS6 intake

almost anything on a 224-227 duration on a 114 lobe seperation would give excellent driving characteristics and still give plenty of power. I'm using a TR227/224-114 in my 98, and drive about 70 miles a day, but still dyno'd at 400hp with Cam, LS6 intake and LT.

i have a 224/224 581 cam with a 3000 stall and the car is very tame for the street.
with a 3400 stall i would get a 228/228 cam.

http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm give vinci a call. i had the 062 in the wife's car. the 079 might be a better choice if you want closer to stock sound. here's clips of the wife's car with the 062 cam.

rev in park

idle in park

idle in drive

Hey man,

Don't even consider a cam without a stall. I recommend yanks ss3600. I love mine and my car is my dd and my only vehicle. I drive it in DC every day with an f13 cam (230/232 on 114 lsa. I am really happy with it. It may be a little big for your taste but it is definately ok for a daily driver car (just get the supporting mods to go with it). My buddy has a cartek 224/228 cam and it drives almost like stock and has great top end pull combined with his heads. I'd go with f13 from futral if I were to do it all over again for sure. I am definately happy with it.

Good luck, get a 3500+ stall or you will wish you had gone bigger.

That's pretty nuts. Are rocker's essential for the 79 cam? And what would be the best springs to go with?
