Default DCR with G5X3 on 112 LSA, .045 gasket, ETP 215s with 62cc chamber?

Since I still can't figure out how to use the VE Calculator properly, could someone calculate my dynamic compression with a G5X3 on a 112 with ETP 215s with a 62cc chamber and a Cometic .045 gasket?

Just assume the cam specs are 236/242 as that seems to be the best guess that I've found.

I need the advertised duration and how much your pistons are out of the hole too.

Advertised duration is given (at least assumed) above, no?

As far as pistons out of the hole, just assume .007.

You gave duration at or above .050". Advertised duration is duration at or above .006"

You also need the ICL for the cam.

I guess I'm SOL then since LG doesn't post specs.

Assuming a 49 degree spread between the .006 and .050 numbers with a -.007 deck heigth and on a 112+0, you get ~8.04:1 DCR and 11:1 SCR.

Hmm, might go with a smaller gasket. What would it be with a .040?

Going to a .040 gasket would bump you to 8.14 DCR and 11.14 SCR. Advancing the cam 2 degrees will give you another .16 DCR.

I went with the 114 X3 and Dart 205's milled to 59cc with a .040" gasket. I notched my pistons over the weekend and should have her up and running this coming weekend and getting her dynoed/tuned the weekend after that. Hopefully, I will yield some good numbers.

8.04 is not bad. Sure you could go higher, but at least the 8.04 will be forgiving if conditions aren't always the way they are when you tune it. Bad gas...etc.

8.04 SUCKS!!! The bottom-end will be so mushy you will hate driving. I know I did it. You are going to be pissed with your investment, and you are leaving power on the table. Get the DCR up to 8.5-6 and call it a day... If you are bold go to 8.7

Do the .040 head gasket, a tight quench wil help stave off knock...

When I use J-Rod's VE spread sheet I get a DCR of 8.18, using the XE-R lobes you said to use.... I get 8.28 with a .040 head gasket.... add 2 degrees of advance and it goes to 8.44 (not bad at all)

You SERIOUSLY need to know if that cam has any advance!!!

G5X3 has 4 degrees of advance in it.

DCR is going to be 8.56:1 assuming no flycut.

I guess this is kind of related... When using that spread sheet is there a way to tell if a cam needs to be flycut or not? in other words is there a way to tell if the G5X3 will fit when chosing different milling and gaskets?

Can some one verify these differences between durations at .006, .050, .200 for the common lobes if advertised @ .050 is considered zero

XE = +53, 0, -82
XE-R = +49, 0, -79
XFI = +50, 0, -75
LSK = +50, 0, -74

I thought so also, but was told by sources that refuse to let me use their name it had 1 degree of advance... oh the drama...

This is why you should get cam specs in advance AND verify the specs yourself before putting the cam in the car.

I wouldn't put a cam in my car nowadays without a cam doctor performed on it

Quick Reply: DCR with G5X3 on 112 LSA, .045 gasket, ETP 215s with 62cc chamber?
