Bad lifter??
Bad lifter?? Ok so Ive had the infamous ticking for about 6 months now. Ive changed to hardened pushrods this weekend and all my plugs and wires are nice and tight and it still ticks. Im starting to think I have a bad lifter. My question is, is that a major problem that is difficult to fix. Would it be expensive to have someone fix it?

There are so many cars that tick, LS1tech should have a "car ticking" subforum. 
My car ticks for a few minutes half way through a cold start, then it stops. I can only guess what is causing it. I'll see what I can see once I get around to installing a H/C combo.

you will have to pull the heads and intake off and get all new head bolts and head gaskets plus the cost of your lifters and get the torque sequence and you could do it if you feel comfortable takeing your heads off... alot of ppl with ls based engines have lifter ticks and they still seem to run fine its up to you its not that tought to pull that heads off, goodluck
