I can't speak from experience, but I think the front suspension has a lot to do with being able to raise the front tires. HP is a given, but I think there are shocks that are meant for lifting the front end. I'm guessing 600-650 (in a full weighted car) would be a starting point of what you'd need with the right setup to support the power.

I'm more thinking about weight. Tube K member, A arms, manual steering, no A/C, lighter hood, skinnies,!stabilizer bars, !windshield washer tank, !bumper support, !foam,!DRL lights and fogs. Then your gears, stall(A4), suspension set-up,and HP/TQ.

well we will see where this thread goes... my car was full weight stock shocks, no SFC, spohn panhard and LCA's is as far as suspension went. power mods was LM, tune, and 100 shot out of the hole. drivetrain mods were fuddle 3400/2.1 converter, stock 10 bolt with 3.73 gears, and a girdle. on motor the car put down like 280 rwhp, with 100 shot maybe 360ish. i pulled both front wheels a couple inches for a few feet. i was running 26x10.5x16 inch bias ply et streets. track was hooking good and well it pulled the front wheels. full weight, minus spare tire. just what i managed to do.

people actually believe you NEED 600 horse to pull the fronts?

Guys.. if you dont KNOW the answer or even know ANYTHING why just spew out bullshit wrong answers.

YOU CAN PULL THE FRONTS WITH 300 RWHP.

Suspension and weight is the KEY.

A heavy rear swaybar will even the car out alot.

As for the power to pull the tires... it's not as much a power thign as it is a traction and weight deal. If the car is spinning, the front tires are NOT coming off the ground. If the car's dead hooking, you're about 1/2 way there already. I've seen cars with 375 rw go on the bumper... so it's not all about power

rear sway bar

As for the original question, get a torque arm, lca's w/relocation brackets, QA1 shocks, remove front sway bar. You've got a 4000 stall so that's good. Take weight off the front of the car, run skinnies up front, move battery to back, remove front bumper support, take out A/C, etc..

i've always had the dream of watching someone snapping even a 9" rear like a toothpick

but how sweet would it be to have a DD with wheelie bars? is that street legal? maybe that'll be a future appearance mod..

I doubt you'll ever be able to pull the wheels on the street. Unless your runnin some big slicks and do a big burnout there just isn't enough traction available on the street with street tires. Don't believe that fast&furious b/s, I think it is physically impossible to pull the front wheels and smoke the rear tires at the same time.

I got the tires off the ground in a 00 Z28 with some 26x10.5 slicks and an NOS dry kit. Its pretty easy when you have traction, and a little power.
