Default SLP performance package

http://www.lmperformance.com/7308/74.html

I am contemplating purchasing this performance package for my c6. Have there been any experience with the package upgrade itself or maybe even the individual parts included in the package from SLP?

Secondly, this car will remain my daily driver. Can I trust SLP's own custom tuned chip(is it reliable and safe?) or should I invest in a Diablo sport and have a local corvette shop tune my c6?

Lastly, I wanted to reiterate that my vette is my daily driver, how many of you suggest that this upgrade is still a good idea?

Let the fun begin ,

As far as tuning goes. get it on a dyno and tune it the right way. I would check with thunder or TSP for a packaged deal that you will truly benefit from. Not to lead you away from one sponsor to another. I just feel that you can probably get a better price by checking around. I would also avoid the headers. I know that on the F-body's they are hated for the low hanging.

Orange peel, I often take trips through DFW, is LG performance a good shop to have a car tuned? Are they familiar with the Diablo programmer?

dude dont get the diablo sport... its pointless, what he was saying is that for the same price you can have a reputable tuner who knows what he is doing put your car on a dyno and create the best tune for YOUR CAR WITH YOUR MODS, all of these tunes that come pre programmed are ok but why not get the best, most reliable performance for your money? I would find someone reputable in your area and set up everything with him, even ask him about the parts because SLP is way over priced for what you get.

I think you kinda missed what I was trying to say. The SLP package comes with a pre-tuned chip, but I considering the Diablo sport not for its pre-programmed maps, but so that a tuner can get a hold of the programmer and tune the car itself. Unless you think I should invest in something else like LS1 edit.

Unless you are confident with such programs like ls1edit or HPTuners, i would just pay someone who knows their way around an ls1 to do a dyno tune. If you decided to tune the car youself, be sure to put some more cash aside for a wideband o2, otherwise it'll be real difficult.

BTW- The tuner will have his own software to use when they tune the car.

Most tuners already have tuning software. Normally you pay anywhere from $400-$500 for a dyno tune from one of them, and if you modify something, they will more than likely let you bring it back and get tuned again for free..
In other words, dont even bother with the Diablosport, the tuner shop will just look at it and throw it in the back seat..

The SLP Package is a LOT Of money. IF you want to stay with a package Deal, Take a look at HPE's "Big Box of Goodies"...($3750.00)

Big Box Of Goodies
As Per the web page above...
Borla Stinger Catback
Kooks 1 7/8 stainless headers
Kooks offroad 3" x-pipe
HPE "S" cam
HPE Springs with Titanium retainers
7.400 chromemoly pushrods
Callaway Cold Air Induction
ASP underdrive pulley
Underdrive belts
NGK TR55 plugs
MSD 8.5mm wires
420-460 rwhp

Add Custom tuning and your in the same ball park (Price wise, maybe a bit less...) as the slp package, but you'll put down a lot more power. Most of it from the Cam in HPE's package. If anything i'm sure one of the sponsors could put together a custom package just for you.

Price of that SLP package includes tuning by SLP so unless you want to drive to New Jersey don't bother with that. Intake and exhaust bolt ons shouldn't cost $5,000. Like ^^ said, get the parts cheaper from some sponsors here and find a local tuner to dyno tune the car.

For $5000 my car better have pounds upon pounds of air being forced down its throat and sound like it's sprung a horrible, horrible leak somewhere. I paid $300 bucks for my headers and said screw the catback and got a cutout with an electric opener for another $200.
