PCV system

what kind a PCV system do they have on 2001 trans am ?
is it ls1 or ls6 ?
and is it wothy to get Thunder Racing LS1 to LS6 PCV Conversion Kit ?

LS6 PCV is a waste. I have the LS6 valley cover on my car and it doesn't help. Still got just as much oil in the intake as before. Get a catch can.

i did the ls6 pcv system and a catch can,i dont get a drop of oil in there now.the ls6 setup definitly helped.

does the catch can go before the pcv valve or after ? ... then another line goes from the can to the intake .... is that all there is to it ??

I have my catch can after the PCV valve. I would think you could do it before or after tho.

The catch can needs to be after the PCV, meaning between the PCV and the intake.

I have read the install instructions for the LS1 to LS6 PCV swap, its stated that the 'old style' LS1 blocks need to be dremeled.

So I assume this means later LS1 blocks, like 2002+ are designed with enough clearance for the LS6 valley cover.

My million dollar question is:
How can I tell if my block is going to need to be modified/dremeled or not - before having to remove my intake/original cover?

Do a search for the block part number, that should be the easiest way. I had to cut mine, it wasn't to bad. I used a cutoff wheel.

You normally install the LS6 pvc system to clean the engine bay up. Mine never burned a drop of oil, so I can't tell ya if it made a difference, but it looks alot better without all those hoses.

I definetly wouldnt mind cleaning up the enigne bay - but my main reason would be to reduce/eliminate oil into the intake.

$150 for the kit from TR is fine by me, heck, I could even do the install, short of cutting the block. That part bothers me!

Maybe a winter project this year.

LOL i put a 15$ catch can in and that iflled up after about 10 min then i switched to mobil 1 15 40 and now it almost never gets any oil in it WOO WOO
