i chose 383 because i am poor.

i believe i could stroke my current motor a lot cheaper than i could get a 408 setup, not to mention the supporting parts needed.

plus i really like rpm

my HPE 408 is a freakin animal, love it. cant imagine what it will be like with heads. I was going to get a 383 setup originally but the 408 was the same price so why not?

Maybe with the sleeves and raised deck for a nice 500 CID LS2.

408 iron block. Once I get the 346 built I plan on swapping over the heads/cam/intake. Price? Come on, it's only money-it's purpose is to be spent. There is just no replacement for displacement, well, I guess there is boost. But you can boost the living **** out of an iron blocked 408 compared to the aluminum 383.

N/A? Boost? Spray? Street? Race?

Solid roller 427.

For a typical street N/A engine 402 aluminum is the way to go. Like an aluminum block isnt strong enough for that
