That's the thing. These shelf cams aren't anything speacial. The 2 cams you mentioned above, given the exact same .050 duration, LSA, and advance aren't going to perform that diffrently. Hardly anything vary's them other than 1 degree of duration at .200" and longer or shorter exaust durations. Hardly noticable diffrences givin both were installed in the same motor. LG's cams are no diffrent. The cats been out of the bag on them for a year or so now. Nothing more than XE-R based camshafts with 8 degree's of split on your choice of LSA. They started with one, it did good, so they added 2 degrees of duration to both sides and called it something bigger. As far as I know, the same is still holding true. Hardly secrative material if you ask me.

I was able to get my X3 specs. Not telling how, out of disrespecting LGM. But, with my 99K miles on short block, 4K stall A4 I put down 421.

What about DCR?
What about degreing?

How the hell can I put an efficient performing combo together if I do not have the .006, .200 specs? Not to mention ICL?

Some poeple that do not really understand how it works just stick it in there blindly, or they just rely on what LG feeds them.

Do their cams work? Hell yes.
Are the combos optimised with their cams? Very few if you are not having the whole work done inhouse at LG.

Can their cams still be copied? Hell yes, and some of them are floating on this board right under their eyes (But if you mention LG in your post, it will vanish )
I feel the same. How in the **** are you suppose to install it properly without knowing ICL?

It kinda sucks if you want to go bigger. You don't know what bigger is. Might go smaller by accident. That would suck.

We C.D.ed a X3, it's no big secret..... I have to agree, with the majority, who gives a flip, give up the cam card, so it can be installed safely and correctly...

I think part of the reason they don't give it out is because it's a lot smaller than most people probably assume that it is, from the power that it makes. I was very surprised about the X3 specs when I heard them.

Age old question.... what matters most the specs or the results?

I don't blame them honestly.... every other thread on here is a what cam should I run thread, and those are like ******** everyone has one.

No, out of respect for the person who told them to me. What matters most, the specs or results? I find it hard to believe that LG won't discuss the specs with you when it comes to matching combos, but I don't know from personal experience. There's no reason that you couldn't use their experience to custom grind something to match your specific combo though.

I've heard the specs of their cams many times, and nothing is on the edge.

I know the G5X3 specs are 234/242, .600/.610. Not sure about the X4. It has been discussed several times on the boards before so I dont feel I am "letting the cat out of the bag" or doing anything other than saving someone from doing a search.

I agree. I could care less about the specs. But you can't expect a cam to perform its best if it isn't install correctly.

G5X4 specs? Just add 2 degrees of duration on each side over the G5X3...a little bit more lift too...

Mine's a little bigger lift-wise, but the X4 is one of my favorites.

Several years ago I had several runins with LG. First runin was me trying to get the spring-rates on their G2 springs so I could have Sam Strano revalve me a set of bilsteins. They would not budge on divulging the spring rates to me upon purchase, so I instead took my business elsewhere.

Second runin was over one of the early G5X cams, (G5X2 i think). Once again, I wanted specs before I bought the cam... I'm not one to take the advice of someone who does not know me, the goals and manners I expect from my car, or what my entire combonation consists of or will consist of. Once again they would not budge on giving me the specs of a cam I was serious about buying. So I again took my business elsewhere. I ended up purchasing a different cam through another vendor. In the end when the specs were let out... the cam I bought was very similar to theirs. Their hard headedness resulted in another lost sale for them.

I have since not even attempted to purchase anything from LG again, and will not even consider putting their parts on my car.

I dont' really know what it matters to give out the specs at .050, cause those don't matter, its IVO/EVC events.
