Is this normal for a head that has been worked alittle?

Here are 2 pictures of a cylinder head that has been milled to I think 63cc's. This material that is missing betwen the valves, is this normal and safe to install? Please let me know. Thanks

Hard to say from the small picks. Are the valve seats damaged?

no the seats are not damaged. Just the metal in between the seats is missing like in the picture. I tried to post a bigger picture but it was to large.

are they sharp and edgy? It could create a hotspot in the chamber to invite detonation if they are, and I would get them smoothed out.

I wouldn't use it that way. I would have a machine shop remove the seats and heliarc over that divit and then smooth.

Correct, this area is directly in the center and that area is subject to tremendeous pressures.
