Default patriot ls6 stageIII, mti-x1, on a ls1, then a 408.

looking at getting a pair good condition used patriot ls6 style heads stage III. i will be putting them on my ls1 w/ a mti-x1 cam... the motor has piston slap when cold. was wondering if i would be an idiot if i slapped these heads on here?
also would these heads be decent on a 408 when i save up to build one?

cam specs:

duration: i230, e227
lift: i.591, e.571
lobe sep. 112

head flow #'s

Stage III 1020 Superflow Bench 4.125 Bore

valves & chamber size 2.08/1.60/64cc

will the 64cc combustion chamber lower my c.r. so i would not be able to run 91-93 octane pump gas?
my motor internals are stock except mti-x1 cam.

heads are OK for the 408... not the best in the world, but you should still make decent power with them.

Cam will work in a 408, but it is a tad on the small side... i'd probably get a different one when the time came to build the 408... great cam for the time being though.

I thought the Stage III heads were too big for stock LS1 cubes...
Isn't that why they're flowed on a bigger bore (4.125 instead of 3.9)? Plus with valves that big, I think you might need to cut valve reliefs..
