60psi... new ported ls6 pump, however after hearing this skreech... watching the oil pressure it droped and i IMMEDIATELY shut the car off.

I sat and watched the oil pressure the entire time the car was warming up and it NEVER went below 40psi

Guys this is in no way my first cam, ive done numerous and i am VERY framilar with the gen III engines. but thats besided the point. I need to know what caused this.

Cueball, yes the retainer was installed the correct way. Im more curious if the cam was machined to thin (the step) in the area that slides through the cam retainer, causing the clearence to be to tight and "weld" itself together

yes do a search there are similiar posts like this i have read. i thought it was the futural cams they had problems with. do a search you should be able to find it pretty easily. if i remeber, cam was machined wrong and they were sent a new one.

Did you check the gear-plate clearance when installing the cam? I had a cam from Comp that was not machined quite right that bound up when the cam bolts were tightened. I'd be willing to bet this is the deal. Measure the front flange on your cam against the stocker

That's sounds like the issue to me also. Curious to know what you find.

That's strange that thing walking like that to cause that kind of damage in a matter of minutes. Hope they/you get it taken care of bud and get it back up and running soon!
