I will call thier engineer on Wednesday and ask him for some PDF on Flow and particle capture rate.. see if we can get some science into this thread rather than just anecdotal stories

WTF are you talking about??? Where the hell did this come from? I have no idea where you got this **** from.

I hope to God you aren't this company's spokesman, because you are dumber than a box of rocks.

Some of your tech is wrong here.

Below 10 microns is what starts causing problems, hence the reason for bypass filters, and filter with Beta ratios down to 2 microns

Please read this article.
http://www.aeromag.net/images/how/SAE.pdfSee the analysis paragraph.

Second, because a race car uses it makes it great for your car?
They call Full flow oil filters rock catchers for a reason. The engine in the average race car has to last how long? 500 miles? How long will the average car engine last? 500 miles? Racecar drivers are driving on slicks with a full cage, a fire suit, and a fire suppression system. Are those good for your car. Is 8000 RPMs for 2 hours good for your car?

Just because a built race car does it or uses it, doesn't mean it's good for the little folk. When I see some beta ratios posted up, and the ongoing test at BITOG getting some UOA's, I will then say more.

K&N is a "good" filter? Where do you put the PureOne, the Premium Plus, and the Wix that can be had for $4 with great UOA's, and if you do some hunting, can be had for $.49. It's great that you only want the best, but I don't think that a tea strainer is going to get the filtering of cellulose or synthetics.

I think in the right circumstances, this filter would be a good idea, like behind a bypass filter, or something that will clean up the mess, but 30-45 microns absolute makes my bearings scream.

A side note

http://www.gopurepower.com/store/ite...=8400&dia=true

5 Micron Material Oil is 12 Microns; it can’t go through a 5 micron material.

Please, oil is 12 microns? What the hell? How does a Amsoil filter down to 2 microns, or a TP filter down to 1 or lower if oil is only 12 microns. If oil is 12 microns, then there is no reason for them to post that their filter filters down to 5 microns, because below 12, there would be nothing passing through it to filter. Please avoid this product if the "techs" are posting this kind of information.
