Cam for C5
Cam for C5 Looking to put a cam in my '97 C5. Converter is a 4000 stall, 2.4 STR with stock 3.15 gears. All other bolt ons are either on the car or gonna be put on. Looking for a cam that I drive the car on long trips (gas milage) but still make plenty of power. Looking for high 11's or better. Thanks!
Cam for C5 I used to have a 224/228 cam that I got over 30 highway mpg and ran 11.80 with a 3000 stall converter. There are several versions that would work. Cartek has one, Tony Mamo at AFR has one, but the one I used was from Pete at CNC heads in Pinellas Park Florida. I think that this cam would do what you want to do.
Slowhawk, I'll put heads on the car next year, so I need a cam that's gonna work now and later. I don't have an exact date, but this car will have heads early next year.

If you are going to do heads early next year, I would wait and do them both at the same time. You'll save a lot of money or time (if you are doing it yourself), plus you will only have to get the car tuned once. Just a thought, but I understand sometimes you can't wait!
