Default Lingenfelter GT1 cam swap

I have a 98 Z28 M6. It's been just about a weak since I swap in a Lingenfelter GT1 cam into my car. Just finished getting all the bugs out of the swap. Right I'm putting breakin miles on the cam. From just 1/4 throttle 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear it pulls like a MF. Can't wait till I get 500 miles on the cam so I really can get into it. I recomend anybody that wants a cam that pulls hard without spending alot of cash get a GT1.

"its a roller cam. There is no break in "

I disagree. It still has to find a path to travel, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Let us know how it turns out, after you break it in. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Done several cam installs, and the only break in was to heat cycle the springs. Never had a single issue arise. No break-in needed IMO.

What are the GT1 camspecs again?

Wow! That is a pretty aggressive cam for Lingenfelter, must have been designed for their strokers or somethin.

What valvesprings do they reccomend with this cam? Comp 918?

I would not use LS6 valvesprings on a 560 lift cam and stock weight LS1 valves.

A few heat cycles and however many miles to the nearest track is plenty of break in. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

I'm interested to see what kind of results you get too. We have those cams on sale for $299.95 if anybody else wants one. Post up after you get some numbers out of it.

Are you running nos? Or a stock exhaust system? I am wondering why the big split.

Ed, I emailed you a couple of times asking about spring recommendations for this cam, and one other but have yet to get a reply. Would it be best to just call?

I got the mileage that i wanted on the cam and springs. The cam is awesome. I ran a friend with just a tr224 cam, tuning, and bolt ons. We were neck and neck. Love the sound of the cam too.

4000 miles ago ,i put a lunati stroker in , the builder picked a LPEGT2 cam ( 205/212 .540 intake and exhaust 116.5 centerline )recommended by rob crest from lingenfelter , during the break in , i was sure it was a monster, then after i had 1000 miles on it, i got to see what it would do,, after 5000rpms it drops like a rock! i have 2.055heads ,all the bolt ons ,and a 2800 stall, why would they suggest this hunk of crap? i dynoed at 350rwt and 338 rwhp,im not happy, and i have lost faith in lingenfelter!a new cam is on the way from tr , but i shouldnt have to go through this ,,just MHO,,ps: stay away from LPEGT2
