my car will run for a second and shut off unless you play with the gas then it runs but wants to shut off....tonight we hooked up hp tuners and its not throwing ne codes but we havent really let it idle for longer than 10 seconds.....when we plugged in the scan master the MAF is reading 0....my friend blew on the maf and it never changed from 0....bad maf?
this was with the car on the on position not running (obviously)

As long as the MAF DTC codes havnt been disabled, and bad or unplugged MAF will make the car resort to speed density mode. Maybe try unplugging the MAF alltogather and see what happens. Car should still run, unless the DTC code was disabled and the computer is actually factoring in the 0 into its calculations since it has no way of knowing the MAF data is bogus.

but my main question is with the key on the on position and if you blow on the maf will it still read that air flow?

I dont know about blowing on the maf...
However just turning the key to run, the maf may read 0 Hz, but it shoudl still read whatever the lowest Lb/Min or g/s is in your tune.
