You will be very happy with the f13. I'd suggest going with the high lift f13 to take advantage of the LSK lobes. You may lose a little low end @ X rpm but you will make that up 2-300 rpms later and then some. The midrange on the f13 is supposed to be killer. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Edit- The idle will have a nice lope to it but nothing crazy, and as far as cruising in 6th gear @ 50mph, thats a bad idea to be doing even with the stock cam because you're chugging the motor at such a low rpm. 6th gear is for 60mph and over.

talk around and do some research on cams... i know that th f13 cam is not a huge cam but it is also a nice daily driver cam. and i know from experience as WS6FirebirdTA00 is running it with AFR 205's and it is fine, cept for his car being so damn loud at idle @900rpm i think its fine.

Hey bro, I am in the same boat you are. My LTs will be here in a week or so. I have been researching cams for about 6 months now. To ask a good DD cam is all subjective. Someones DD cam could be somebodys' pain in the *** cam. It is all in what YOU are willing to sacrifice for power and where will you see that power. Go to a few LS1 meets in your area. Listen to different cams and ride in the car and FEEL where the power is. I am leaning toward the TR224 on up to the MS3.

Your original post said you wanted something that would have stock style street manners, and not force you to change springs all the time. that is what the MS4 is!

The MS4 is a kick-*** cam, but not something i would call "stock street syle manners"

I'm sure with a good tuner, you could get alot of driveability out of the cam, but this might be overkill for what you are looking for...

I have the 228R in my daily driver M6. I did a lot of research first. No regrets so far. I know a couple other people in this thread have recommended it as well.

This is a mistake. You not be getting any more power and less drivability. I have a tr224. Side by side with fm13 I outpull the fm13 all the to 6000 rpms and then the fm13 peaks at the same hp as me.
I dont have scanner but I have the graph in front of me comparing the two.

Thunder Racing has their own lobes and their cams kick ***. My li'l ol 224 is outpulling a 230/232 and drives better. Its all in the tune.

hmm... can any one confirm this.......seems strange. How come most want bigger cams if the 224 is the same?

Any race results because dyno is not always relieble.

TR 224 all the way. I put down 397hp with stock heads and intake. Just had lts, pulley, lid and ported tb.. Drives better than stock and sound like a beast. I ended up puting some cheap heads and a fast90/90 and went up to 428hp. Youll like this cam alot.

I have the graph in front of me. I'm trying to take qa picture of it but it keeps coming out blury. I'm not lying or exagerating one bit.

As far as race results my car is having issues right now and I'm waitin for time to get it in the shop to find out whats wrong with it.

Bottom line is the fact that most people on here think bigger is better and you need a big cam to produce power. In an ls1 it just isnt true. The fm13 has longer duration and more lift but is in no way is a more powerful producing cam. Lobe design plays an important factor as well.

Comments from the tuner " I was suprised, the 224 beat up on the fm13 all the way. The fm13 peak at the same hp but gave up torque and hp to the 224 until peak. It never had as much torque and it also didnt seem to drive as nice. It had a noticeable surge where the 224 didnt."

Personally I dont care what a person runs for a cam. This guys wants the best street cam. The only other choice I would look at would be the afr 224/228 cam and I would only look at that if I was going to run afr heads. I've seen a graph with as good if not better torque band and more hp than I have. I was impressed with it.

Thunder Racing told me with their P+P'ed heads 440-450 hp should be the result with the tr224.
