6.0L Engine Changeover from a 2003 Full Size Chevy Silverado 1500 Truck
I'm in the market for a used ls1 motor and found this. Would this be an alright car swap? What are the differences with this motor compared to a camaro or vette ls1. Thanks guys
Factory Horsepower Rating: 325 H.P.
Torque: 370 Ft.Lbs.
Description:
"Good used complete 6.0L Engine Changeover from a 2003 Full Size Chevy Silverado 1500 Truck (pick-up). It has been tested and runs very good, nice clean engine. Comes complete with: alternator, AC Compressor, starter, power steering pump, smog pump (if equipped), fuel pump (from tank), engine computer, main engine wiring harness (not guaranteed to be usable for your application), Intake, Exhaust manifolds, mass air sensor (air flow meter, yes its included although it isn't pictured), O2 sensors etc. We tried to our best ability to remove this as a usable changeover assembly (AC Lines, p/s hoses, wiring, eng.computer etc., Y-pipe). Air intake hose from mass air sensor to engine is included but air cleaner assembly is not included. This engine has a cast iron block and aluminum heads. The top beauty cover is not included because the van this engine is from does not come from the factory with the cover. Please note, I do not require a core back for this engine"

I wasnt sure they offered the 6.0 in the 1500 pickups? then they say it is from a van which I think they did offer.
anyway they are great motors they have the iron block instead of the aluminum, all the accessories and intake may have to be changed to fit it into your swap if height is a problem. They are all interchangable from a car to the truck motor...
good luck

Were you the guy doing the swap into a Porshe? Might be a little heavy. I would try to find a used ls1/2/6. The ls6/2 has more power and weighs less. Also you might run into fitment issues with the accersories due to them sticking out more in the front.
Correct me if Im wrong but the lq9 was rated at the factory with 345hp
With simple bolt ons (K&N , cat back exhaust) a 5.3L will put down around 265hp to the wheels. Thats through a automatic in a 2003 silverado 1500.
A stock lq4 in a 2003 silverado 2500 with an automatic will put down around 285hp to the wheels. Im not sure on torque numbers.
