I smack the rev limiter some times when I'm getting beat by someone much faster than me.

Didn't really keep track but I've had the car for almost 4 years and I would guess in the 20-30 range. My Harlan's shift light helps a LOT. I don' know how I ever raced without this thing, especially with a cam on that lazy stock tach. I don't even look at the needle any more at the track. My stock pushrods were all straight as an arrow (my brother overrevved it twice on a 3-2 shift), and my first set of after markets rods were perfect, too when I got a different cam package last year.

I have only hit mine once since I installed a shift light due to missing 4th.
But the first time I test drove the car I hit it twice, once for 3-4 seconds, and was thinking well its a good thing they want to much for this car, cause I do not want it as bad now. Well they came down quite a bit and I bought it anyway.

I bounced off it a couple of times when my transmission started slipping in 2nd gear. No damage that I know of so far

I normally drill the hell out of the revlimiter at the 1/4 mile track so I wont have to shift into 4th.

LOL, Ive hit that thing 477.6 times. Slipping tranny, little nitrous, whammo, meet mr. rev limiter. BUT, never broke anything as a result, stock pushrods forever.
Have a good friend who got pissed at a dealership cause they told him the knocking noise in his motor was 'normal'. He called me as he was leaving said dealership, then proceeded to drive all the way home floored on the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. Somehow, NOTHING BROKE!! I thought for sure it would go!
He finally got that motor warrantied though.... 402 or something like that, hmmm, shoulda tried that one myself, lol!

i have maybe 4-6 times. mostly during street racing when watching out for other cars on street.

At the track I never have.

I just bought and installed a raptor shift light. I chalk it up as one of the best mods.
I shift at 6000rpms every time now, never over or under. Plus now with the shift light I have seen my OEM tach a few hundred rpms off.

btw I never broke or bent any parts.
bouncing off the rev limiter doesnt always break parts, its mostly missing a shift going into the wrong gear. For example shifting 2nd to 3rd but going into 1st instead... Then you bend up all types of ****!

Doesn't the rev limiter only cut spark (ignition)? It would be the high RPM that would cause a bearing to spin not necessarily the rev limiter.
