Need advice on LS1 purchase.
I found a really clean 1998 Z28 A4 with 95,000 and its the original owner. He wouls sell it for $7,500. The car looks real nice but the miles concern me. He said he used synthetic oil since new. Should I worry about the miles or will it run for another 100K?

Not an LS1 experience, BUT I sold my 95 LT1 with 170K miles on it and the ONLY problem I had was when the oil got REALLY shitty, it had a TINY knock when FIRST cranked. with good oil it never knocked, smoked, or used oil between changes and ran damn strong. Oil pressure at idle was 20psi, is this normal for an LT1 car? I was told it was, it shot to 60 when nailed.

I just did a leak down test on my 99 Z-28 with 76k on the clock and it had an average of 8%. If you're really conncerned ask the seller if he would mind you doing a leak down and compression test

Mine has 92,000 with unsynthetic and the only problem I had was my rearend going out. It could have been the miles but I think the 4400 stall and radials had something to do with it. If he is serious about selling the car ask him to pay to have it sent to a mechanic of your choice. Even if you don't buy it, he'll have that mechanics take on the car's condition in writing for the next interested buyer.
