Default Cam suggestions..?

Sorry for another thread on "which cam do I get?". But I figured hey, this is a public board and a great place to get suggestions so I am going to take advantage of it...
My problem is that I am really stuck on which cam to get, everytime I think I have my mind made up, something new strikes me and I start researching a different one. First I'll start with my car: It's a 1998 Z28, basically all the mods in my sig, 6 speed car, and I have 4:10's to go in it as well. I am also getting CNC'ed LS6 heads after winter

What I'm looking for in a cam/what I want to do:
My car is my one and only- its my daily driver. On average I drive about 75 or so miles a week, probably 100 max. I don't do much stop and go, but i want the car to be capable to do it.
I want a cam that is mean, lopes hard. I have true duals and there is nothing more that I love than a loud, mean sounding, hard loping car. As far as drivability, I can give up a little.....however, having never driven a cammed car before, I don't really know what to expect. Although, I highly doubt that ANYTHING can be more annoying than the SPEC stage 3 clutch, in stop and go traffic, that I put in my last daily driver 97 Z28
Truthfully, the car will RARELY see the track, but I would like to have a lot of power on reserve in case I do need it.

So basically I want a cam that lopes hard, has no problems in the occasional stop and go traffic, and can cruise in sixth gear at about 70 (with 4:10s). And I know that horsepower isn't everything, but I wanna see maybe at least 410 RWHP before I do the LS6 heads....

What do you think??? Am I **** out of luck??

Ever heard of an oxymoron.

You seem to want the extreme of both ends of the scale.

But damn only 75 mies a WEEK I do more than that every day!!!!!

I'd be tempted to go have a look at TSP's new V3 Torquer and PRC Ls6 heads. On a good tune it should drive pretty decent. I'd probably also pick up a LS6 intake manifold as well.

i'd say the t3 ground on a 110 would be a great stick for a mean sound .with a great tune even the monster cams are very driveable.hit up some of the cam gurus like patrick g or side step for a suggestion, they both are very sharp cats.

The Torq v3 would be a really good choice if you looking for something that will give you some great gains. Down the road it would work with a good set of ported LS6. With all the bolt-ons, you should have no problems with getting close to the numbers you want. If you have any questions, give us a call or shoot us an email!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep them coming...

I actually don't want both ends of the extreme- I know that good drivability is all in the tune. I know a couple guys that drive MS3's and TREX's on the street with ZERO problems. I have considered the MS3/MS4 but the only thing holding me back is that they make power up high and I don't wanna spin my motor to the moon, HOWEVER, like I said I rarely go to the track and maybe sometime in the future I will replace my rod bolts too.

What do you all think about TSP's 233/239??? I was looking at that, its bigger, but doesn't make power quite as high as the Magic Stick cams- or do you guys think there is something a little better out there for me?? The only thing that I dunno about the Tqr Cam is that I've heard the Tqr v.2 on a 112 LSA in person and it really didn't lope hard enough for me, however it was through a catback and I have true duals....

Although many DD big cams, I think too many people blasay them and claim they are like stock. They ain't and if you look around its amazing how many people swap the Trex out for something more livable, there's usually a thread every 2-3 weeks.

As for lope, well that's partly due to overlap and tickover rpms. Almost any cam can be made to lope to some extent. But nasty lope comes from nasty cam setups.

And remember HP = torque x rpm / 5252 this means to get the most power you need to make as much torque as high in the rpms as possible. This is why most larger cams require high rpms to make the most of them.

I think the V3 peaks around 6300-6400rpm and I'm not sure but I think can be had on a 111 LSA. I would have thought it could sound very good.

Either that or maybe look for a custom cam, but it may cost you more and/or you'll need to know exactly what you want.

ive got the 233/239 cam in my car and its pretty good, ive been told my power is low due to the low compression my car is making but it should be a bit higher, all my mods are in my sig, now im running this power through cats and a muffler and its still pretty loud and the cam is ground on a 113lsa.

I am actually seriously considering the Tqr. 3 now.... I see the power that Brian @ Texas-Speed made through an auto, and I'm sure it sounds good on a 111 lsa. And I will probably have a little left in it after I change rod bolts and feel comfortable reving a little higher.

For those of you with a cammed M6 car, if you have a good tune does your car have a problem cruising the highway in 6th??? I will have 4:10's too, BTW.
