TRex vs. MS3: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=ms3+trex

Those are a few threads I got from a quick search. The MS4 is a lot like the MS3 with more low end. Most will probably say to go with the MS4 for the low end grunt advantage. The TRex has been proven again and again. Either way you'll have a sick car.

The trex will probably not be quite as streetable unless you have an excellent tune.
It's big...however I know of a couple local M6 guys with bigger cams than the trex that daily drive their cars.
My cam is basically a trex...same duration and lsa but a little more lift. But I'm auto with a big convertor and 3.73s. The convertor flashes just shy of 4K rpm, from flash up it pulls like a freight train to 7K rpm.
With a 6 speed you'll want at least a 3.73 gear, preferrably a 4.10 You can probably run the MS4 with stock 3.42s without much trouble due to the increased lowend performance of that cam. You may not need to take that cam much past 6500rpm to make peak power either with the stock heads.
I voted trex cuz I'm biased
If you don't have or want to do gears then go with the MS4.

People on here act like nobody has put them on a stock bottom end with stock valvetrain on LS1 or LS6 heads. "Check clearance". Okay, yeah. Lemme buy all this crap, THEN see if it fits. Sure.

Both cams were designed to be true 'cam only' cams, thus not having to flycut the pistons to get them to fit.

My 'trex' fit fine without flycutting the pistons using the stock bottom end in my car with the tsp/prc stage 1 ls6 heads that are not milled.

i think most of them would see if it fits and flycut if not, i guess if flycutting is out of the queston then you should go with somthign that you can be sure will fit.

That's pretty vague.
You mean peak hp?
Or more power under the curve?

My car will prob be anywhere from 2300-2500lbs so the trex sounds like a better option for me as I'm looking for a lot of topend and I dont have much car to lug around, if I had a 3600lb fbody though I would prob get the ms4

sounds like the trex has more top end and the ms4 creates more mid range power.

It depends on what the guy wants. The T-Rex is more of a proven drag racing cam. I'm sure the MS4 will do good. But the guy did say that he did not drive his car much anymore. I would assume that meant that he is going to be interested in taking it to the strip. Based on this information I would say T-Rex.

It all depends on the goals for the car. The MS4 is a new style cam that creates more mid range power and torque which is going to be more 'street friendly'. The trex is definitely more of a strip-oriented cam.
