I don't know what the absolute max is. I am pretty sure the stock lifters are rated at ~7200 rpm.

I've seen 7500 with no problem out of several engines (aftermarket lifters)

not an ls1, but check out anderson ford motorsport. they have some cams running close to 8000rpm.

lifters collapse when you hit peak rpm but is there anything else you have to worry about? So 7500+ rpms is obtainable with aftermarket super duty Hydraulic lifters and plenty of spring pressure? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Good set of aftermarket lifters with adjustable rocker arms so you can get lifter preload between .002 and .004". This will allow extreme rpm with right valvesprings, without threat of lifter pump up.

Mine has seen just over 7000 rpm when I was experimenting with shift points on my 232/236 cam. I didn't go any faster than using 6800 shift points, so I put the shift points back down.

I was just reading the other day about a Renegade Mustang revving to 8800rpm, using the stock Ford lifters. I know the technology is there, just depends if anyone has adapted it to an LS1 cam lobe and they want to use Ti everything.
