Is 450 rwhp cam only possible?
Thunder Racing's page about their 451rwhp cam http://www.thunderracing.com/dynogra...n=read&pgid=60
Thunder did, and they are very reputable so yes it is possible. But you'll need a big cam like the T-rex or TSP's Giant Cam. Plus you'll the best of every bolt on out there. Plus a strong running car to begin with wouldn't hurt. Some of the 01 and 02 factory freaks that put down 315+rwhp stock could do it.

I wouldn't expect 450rwhp with stock heads on a streetable car with a safe tune. If it were reasonably do-able, we'd all be doing it by now.
BTW icing a composite intake and running race fuel on a low compression motor will do nothing for dyno #'s. More likley dyno tricks are removing belts, screwing w/ the weather station, or entering a bad vehicle weight.
In order to hit numbers like this from a cam/bolt-on car, there has careful tuning, perfect degree on the cam, pefrect componets set-up, and playing with the heads a bit to work a little better. I am sure you can play with gasket thickness to change things very little and do other little tricks as well.
These are just my opinions though.

That's ~50hp more than all the other '98 year model LS1 cars. Most people don't see 50 hp from a cam change.Ben T.
