Lol! This **** is funny. LS1impulse.....I can understand now why you responded like that. Yeah.....if I knew someone was trying to use wooden dowels in place of pushrods....I would think they were nuts too.

I'll give $5 to the first person brave enough to try that.

i personally wouldnt feel comfortable using wooden dowels to hold up the lifters, so my last cam swap i bought 5-6ft of 5/16 brake line for 4 bucks... cut it in half and was ready to go.

Damn...I didnt even pick up on that. That would explain JITSUMANIA's reply.

What a laugh this has been.

And I'll try those plastic connecting rods on my new Tupperware pistons.

i kinda started to question myslef when fratsit put the post up about them sliding in and out jsut fine, but the next post down I put "pushrods" to make sure of myself, i guess N4cer finally caught it.

oh yeah, give the new aluminum Foil driveshaft a try while your testing parts, i heard its real tough

Actually, I belive they DID try plastic *composite* pistons at one time (or was it heads? I read so much garbage on the net, I forget whats what), but, while they held the power, they still melted.... or something to that effect. Then, they were looking at ceramics.... hmmm.... they are trying!!

sounds good to me, as long as it is lighter, gotta move foward with technology you know.

I was also thinking of removing the double roller chain and tieing up some cloths line in its place. The cetrifugal weight savings would HAVE to net me at least 10hp!?

has any one else used the brake lines to hold the lifters up? Sounds like a good idea to me (I'm cheap but not cheap enough to shove wood dowels into my motor to hold up the lifters)
