I wanted to put something else that would have bumped it over 500character so i took it out, plus i completly missunderstood the orginal post which i have no problem admitting, people make mistakes which i did, N4cer thanks for setting this thread strait
Lol! This **** is funny. LS1impulse.....I can understand now why you responded like that. Yeah.....if I knew someone was trying to use wooden dowels in place of pushrods....I would think they were nuts too.
I'll give $5 to the first person brave enough to try that.

i personally wouldnt feel comfortable using wooden dowels to hold up the lifters, so my last cam swap i bought 5-6ft of 5/16 brake line for 4 bucks... cut it in half and was ready to go.

sounds good to me, as long as it is lighter, gotta move foward with technology you know.
I was also thinking of removing the double roller chain and tieing up some cloths line in its place. The cetrifugal weight savings would HAVE to net me at least 10hp!?

Hey man, no big deal, just ride it out, it will be forgotten soon enough, but, you got me thinking and I do have a few more ideas on weight savings and parts replacements.
Lets just
and work it through

has any one else used the brake lines to hold the lifters up? Sounds like a good idea to me (I'm cheap but not cheap enough to shove wood dowels into my motor to hold up the lifters)
