Ms4 Horsepower
Ms4 Horsepower I have a 224 cam with all bolt ons i dyno 370 with a ms4 how much hp do you think i will have and also it is tuned on the 224 so if i got the ms4 would it be okay to drive on until i get it tuned for like two weeks.
from wat i hear it will buck and surge real bad on low rpms... i also am gunna need to drive it around for like two weeks till i get it tuned... same cam... but im thinkin if i can just get a cheap tune just for temporary till i have enough for a good dyno tune...
You'll definitely need a tune for the MS4! The MS4 should pick up a solid 20-25 RWHP over the 224 that you have now. It could certainly be more, but that's just a rough estimate. Whether or not your current 224 tune will work for a while with the MS4 will depend on if it's a six-speed or auto. It could have a chance of working if it's a six-speed, providing your idle is high enought (~900 RPM). If it's an auto, it could be hit or miss.

i drove mine on a m6 for a week on a stock tune... it will learn to stay alive when coming to a stop but would drop to 200rpm then work back up... and it would surge under 1600rpm but its VERY doable.. i dd like 20-50 miles and i was fine.

I went from a 224/0.581 to the MS4. After a bit of street tuning I can even tow a trailer with this cam cruising at 1200 rpms. Only thing now is I'm runnning open loop mode with Maf and liking the tuning changes
